Who is
TheChazz?
I’m Jonathan Hobson — photographer, car enthusiast, and the founder of TheChazz.com. Since June 2001 I’ve been behind the lens at racetracks, car shows, rooftops, and backroads across 19 countries, documenting the intersection of automotive culture and the people who live it.
What started as a side project has become a 24-year archive of over 900 shoots — spanning drift events, concours d’elegance, model collaborations, and everything in between. Based in Kansas City, shooting everywhere.
The Work
TheChazz.com is a premium photography archive built around two things: extraordinary machines and the people who inhabit that world. Every shoot is an editorial collaboration — models, car owners, venues, and sometimes full crews coming together to create something worth keeping.
From exotic supercars to raw barn finds, from solo model shoots to full event coverage — the archive spans every corner of automotive culture. SFW previews live on the site. The full uncensored sets are on Patreon.
Origins
It started with a simple idea: capture the feeling of being there. Early shoots were raw and scrappy — made with whatever gear I could find, at whatever events would let me in. Over time the style refined, the equipment upgraded, and the vision clarified: authentic moments, cinematic light, no filler.
My dad’s classic-car restorations taught me craft and patience. My mom’s draftsman eye trained me to see light, lines, and form. Two decades later, those lessons still show up in every frame.
On Set
Every shoot is a collaboration. My friend and frequent set assistant Nikki brings a cinematographer’s eye to behind-the-scenes coverage — turning shoots into experiences rather than just images.
Models, car owners, mechanics, venue managers — every person on set shapes the final work. TheChazz is the name on the site, but the archive belongs to everyone who showed up.
